WHAT ARE DATABASES?
|
|
The library databases listed here provide access to the world’s
published periodical literature, plus some other types of publications
(eg reference books).
Search options
A comprehensive range of search options allow relevant material
to be located quickly. A topic KEYWORD search is the most popular
but searches can also be conducted by AUTHOR NAME, PUBLICATION NAME,
etc. Results can be narrowed by specifying PUBLICATION DATE or range
of dates.

FULLTEXT
DATABASES
|
|
Fulltext databases are just that – the entire text
of the published item is retrievable online, sometimes including
illustrations. The user can save them to disk, print them out or
email them (please note that the extent of copying is regulated
by copyright legislation).

OBTAINING
LOGINS
|
|
In most cases our databases must be accessed by clicking on the
"Login" button on the Information
Centre homepage, and entering the E-Resources login.
|
Library staff can give you the current E-Resources login,
or you can email
a request for a login to this site, quoting your student
number or enrolment details.
Please note that the NCI E-resources login is NOT the same as your personal login, it is a separate login. |
NB to obtain a login you must be a currently enrolled
student at a campus of North Coast Institute
|
By logging in as described above, you can get directly into most
databases by clicking on the link provided. For other databases,
additional logins are required. Further information is available
