North Coast Institute libraries provide a range of computing facilities to currently enrolled TAFE students.  A current TAFEcard must be presented. Computers will have Internet access, the Microsoft Office suite of software and may also have other specialist software.

A booking system applies - phone or call in to pre-book a computer. A 2-hour limit usually applies. Depending on demand you may be able to extend your booking on the day. At some times of the year bookings are heavy and advance booking is strongly recommended.

You can access a personal data storage area by logging on to a computer with your personal login. If you do not know what your personal login is, please check the information on: http://www.nci.tafensw.edu.au/portal/studentPortal.htm

An Internet code of practice is enforced. There are significant penalties for improper use of the Internet.

You will need to bring your own disk or memory stick to take your work away. Label it with your name and phone number as a minimum. Disk space is also available to students with a personal login.

Printing facilities are available including colour (charges apply to both B&W and colour). Scanners are available in most libraries.

For assistance in using computers, library staff can assist with specific difficulties, but cannot train you in the use of applications. The Technical Guides on this website provide some hints for computer users.
