End of Year thoughts
As we near the end of 2009, you might be getting worried about completing assignments and even courses.
Fear not; help is at hand!
Staff are here to offer advice and support, so see your teacher if you are experiencing difficulties.

The Learner Support Centre (under the library in K Block) offers all sorts of help, and access to computers for extended hours.
There are some great time management guidelines on our webpages, so check out: http://www.ncistudent.net/StudySkills/L ... ement1.htm
The library has books and videos to help you as well; so check out the TAFEcat at: http://tafecat.tafensw.edu.au/uhtbin/cg ... _id=kemweb
Don't let the stress of completing your work get to you; our counsellor Beris is available for a confidential session if needed.
Check out: http://www.nci.tafensw.edu.au/counsellors/Kempsey.htm

National Homeless and Missing Persons Week

This year Homelessness Australia teams up with the AFP's National Missing Persons Week to spotlight the missing who are also experiencing homelessness.
WHERE DO THEY GO?
The theme highlights the question asked by many when their loved ones go missing and when missing people are also homeless. The theme also asks the question of where do the many go who are homeless including families and children who are turned away from over crowded shelters.
See http://www.homelessnessaustralia.org.au/site/index.php for more information.
As you huddle together in this cold weather, spare a thought perhaps for those who do not have the same comforts with which to warm themselves.
Libraries can help with information; look for resources on homelessness at 362.70994 or just ask for help with locating other information.

Refugee Week

The theme for Refugee Week 2009 in Australia is "Freedom from Fear".

Any person who owing to a well founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of his/her nationality and is unable, or owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail himself/herself of the protection of that country.

This week there is a display in the Library with some interesting books and DVD's on refugees.
